With a career spinning 30 years+ in software and technology based corporate businesses across US and Europe, Derek created, built and managed corporate start-ups and restructured established businesses to accelerate growth and provide shareholder value.

For the last 18 years he has held senior management and board positions including CEO of multimillion Euro businesses in several territories in Europe. He has led well known industry brands e.g. o2, Dimension Data, Solera and worked with leading insurers Allianz, Generali, AXA, and VIG delivering innovative and imaginative technology.

In 2017, he co-founded PetExpert, a fully digital pet health insurer and as CEO, built a multi-million Euro business spanning four countries.

Derek is a lover of Dogs and Cats and is passionate about animal health, rights and welfare which was his inspiration for the creation of PetExpert.

In November 2022, PetExpert was acquired by Trupanion Inc., www.trupanion.com the leading Pet Insurance provider in the U.S.A. Derek continues to lead the PetExpert businesses across Europe with plans to enter new markets in 2024.
